(More customer reviews)Our Shiba Inu dog is 9 years old and beginning to show his age, including a slight thinning in the thickness of his fur coat. He's an inside dog and sleeps every night on the couch. We noticed recently that he was shivering a bit in the morning as we turn the heat down at night and the house cools off. We found this heated bed pad on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It performs exactly as advertised and feels so warm under the dog. There are no problems with it getting too hot. He used to leave the couch to jump on our bed when he got cold during the night, but no more! He stays glued to his heated area all night and we're relieved to know that he's always comfortable. The pad isn't real large, though, so it's best for smaller dogs. Our shiba is 26 lbs and about the size of a Beagle. We can't comment on durability as we've only been using it for a couple of months, but it's been on pretty much 24-7 and so far, so good.

The Thermo Pet Mat will be your cat or dog's favorite place to nap. Machine-washable cover makes it easy to care for and keep clean. Dual thermostats regulate temperature of the heater buried under the soft foam. Pet is comfortable up to 102¿ when lying on Thermo Pet Mat. The heater is set to keep the surface 12 to 15¿ above ambient air temperature and warms to a pleasing 102¿ degrees when the pet lies upon it. While this is perfect for cold months, many cats and dogs are chilly in the summer and love this bed to keep them warm. But, even if you don't use air conditioning, most pets love the feel of this bed, so all you need to do is remove or unplug the heater for use during warmer months.
