(More customer reviews)I had my eye on this little aquarium for a while, and am happy I got it. The filter provided is very flimsy, but it is quiet and provides a very gentle flow, which is great if you're keeping fish who dislike a strong current, particularly in such a small space. The media inside the filter is quality, and there is a modest amount of flow adjustment allowed on the intake valve. The size of the tank is perfect for fry or other tiny fish or invertebrates. On first blush it seems like a great tank for a betta, but this is an open-top tank and bettas are known jumpers.
The real value in this set, though, is not the filter or the light (which is perfectly adequate), but the aquarium itself -- The glass is very solid, heavy, and exceptionally clear. The bottom is beveled for beauty and stability. The buying price is worth it just for the tank itself. Pershnickity aquarists will find it worth the time and money changing out the filter and/or light for something better, because the aquarium itself is true quality.
