(More customer reviews)I purchased this thermostat 6 months ago and was very excited with programmable settings. It installed with relative ease and it took a little bit of time to figure out the programming (mostly because one button has about 3 different settings depending on the order you push them). But once I had it set, I was excited for it to go to work. It was a blazingly hot summer and so far has been a pretty frigid early winter.
The only constant about the thermostat has been its extremes. It won't turn on until you get about 4 degrees below your desired setting, and then it stays on until 4 degrees above your setting. An 8 degree temperature differential is not acceptable to me. Even on the hold and override positions, it does this. At least my old mercury thermostat stayed within a 2 degree range of the desired temperature. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with it either too hot or too cold. I have tried to use the time settings to predict when I want it to come on so that by the time it turns off, it will be my desired setting. Having to try and over think your thermostat is not what the product is supposed to encourage. I'm done with this one, just going to chuck it and stick to a thermostat that actually heats and cools to a single set temperature.
