(More customer reviews)I have had 2 units. The first one I had for about 5 years but never used it, was too expensive to run the electric heat. We had a tenant move into the house and they used it regularily for about 4 years. The fan in the unit broke and began to char the cabinet wood (this was placed under our kitchen sink) The safety mechanism did not work to shut off the heat. We thought that perhaps the unit being 5+ years old, it was just worn out. Amazon.com had the Dimplex model, I knew it would fit so we reordered the same model.
We replaced the unit and within 3 days the fan broke, again charring the cabinet wood. I have tried to contact customer service at Dimplex and the waits are over an hour on the phone. Email doesnt work either. I submitted an online request on Dec 22- now is Jan 26th and I still have not heard back. Extremely annoying!! Not sure what is more annoying.. my tenant bugging me to have this fixed or Dimplex's wait time.
