(More customer reviews)We hastily ordered this version of the table top heater after we received the Fire Sense version (and it didn't work). We thought the MP3 speakers were unnecessary.
However, when we received the product, we felt that the overall aesthetics and build quality of this product were far superior than the Fire Sense model we had previously looked at. Setup was much easier as more of the item was pre-built.
The gas easily screwed into the unit. The unit fired up easily, after following the directions (you need to push the dial in for 30 seconds after you ignite it). Also, there is no pilot light for this unit which makes it simpler to operate.
Lastly, the MP3 speakers were actually a good thing. We hooked up our iPhones at the BBQ to the heater and piped some background music. They are good quality and were strong enough to fill a patio area which is about 800 sq feet with clear music.
As for heating the air - we were sitting in about 60 degree (F) weather and the unit was positioned about 2 feet away from two individuals (grandmothers). It kept them nice and toastly. I imagine if the weather was much colder the heat would have been felt further away, but at the table of 8 people, only one person at the far end had a jacket on, and the rest were in T-shirts/light tops.
I definitely recommend the unit.
