(More customer reviews)...Lasko now has the 5571 model, which seems to heat more evenly and the fan is way more powerful (but also louder). I have 2 of the 5570 models, and they don't do near as well. The first one is from 2007, it has a very bright blue light that is not good for the bedroom, the thermometer is way off (it takes hours for it to register it is cold to turn on again). The model from 2008 (most likely what is listed here for sale) does a little better, by turning on low power every so often to register the temperature. Neither is as good as the 5571 though, which seems to accurately tell the temperature and heat the room accordingly, (and it heats it well!)
One other concern is the bottom half of the air exhaust doesn't have any airflow, and gets very hot, where the new model has air evenly blowing out. Lasko doesn't make it possible for you to take these models apart and clean them thoroughly, because of 2 triangle shaped screws deep within the back.
Always make sure to vacuum off the air intakes on a regular basis as well, as they get clogged with lint very quickly. (both on the front lower part and on the back).
